Globally Standardized Processing of Provisions and Accruals with the SAP Add-On IRMA

Comprehensive and Significant Evaluations for the Controlling Department

Initial Situation

The automotive supplier HELLA wanted a globally standardized provision management process for its worldwide companies and, in recognition of the high volume and industry-specific complexity, automated mass processing. Besides, comprehensive and insightful reports are required for controlling purposes.

Project Course

Together with HELLA experts from Human Resources, Controlling, Accounting and Tax, the IKOR team worked out the mapping of the respective requirements in IRMA. After six months, the previous procedure using accounts for posting was replaced by a centralized and automated processing system: Relevant data sets from other SAP modules are transferred to the accounting department in CSV file format, which initiates a collective upload for further automated processing and calculation in IRMA monthly.
All the provision-relevant data for corresponding balance sheet items of the German companies belonging to the HELLA Group is stored in IRMA. On that basis, it is possible to extract the provision history sheet and various other evaluations at any time and with just one click.

Result

The provisions of the HELLA companies are recorded in IRMA, where they are processed automatically and taken into account for the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements. IRMA also automatically carries out a uniform and comprehensibly documented calculation at the end of the financial year using the interest rates stored on behalf of the affiliated companies. As of April 2017, IKOR is responsible for the roll-out to Eastern Europe, followed by the roll-out to China in January 2018.
