User Experience (UX)

« Back to Glossary Index

User Experience (UX) can best be translated into German as Nutzungserfahrung or Nutzungserlebnis. UX refers to the user experience of a particular product. Users should be enthusiastic about a product. The user experience is subjective and dynamic; it refers to all of a person's behaviors and feelings. Holistically, the UX includes usability.

The international DIN ISO 9241-210 defines user experience in the following way:

"Perceptions and reactions of a person resulting from actual and/or expected use of a product, system, or service. [...] This includes all emotions, perceptions, preferences, perceptions, physiological and psychological reactions, behaviors, and performances that occur before, during, and after use. " (DIN ISO 9241-210)
