A subledger is a ledger containing all of a detailed sub-set of transactions. The total of the transactions in the subledger roll up into the general ledger. Financial experts distinguish the following sub-ledgers:
- Creditors
- Debtors
- Attachments
- Cash book
- Bill of exchange
